Then, as today, Boone’s Drugstore sold more than just prescriptions. Greeting cards, fine china and other related knickknacks were a part of the store’s assortment of fine gifts.
| While Boone’s Drugstore was never located underground in Havre, the display is an accurate recreation of what an early 20th Century drug store would have looked like. The display is composed of several tall cabinets and a pharmisist counter, of a type actually used in an early pharmacy. The items were donated to Havre Beneath the Streets for display purposes. Hundreds of bottles and boxes, of a type once used in the apothecary’s trade, are housed in the cabinets and give visitors a rare and realistic glimpse into medical treatments of the past. |
